goodbye to the clown.
Vernie makes really good banana bread.. mmmmmm...
My trip from OMA to MQT was good. The captian got to my house a little early.. he tagged along while I gassed up the jeep and did some last minute packing. I drove to Omaha.. and we stopped at a couple of places. We got some stuff, and we got to Eppley about 2 hrs before my flight. I checked my luggage, went through the security checkpoint, and found my gate, and sat. When the time came to board the plane, they asked for voluenteers to take a later flight... if you do that you get a $300 voucher for your trouble, that sure sounded good to me but, I had 4 connecting flights in all so I diddn't want to risk messing that up.
The last leg of my trip was from DTW to MQT. I rode in a small SAAB-SF. It was interesting, I had never ridden in a propeller driven aircraft before. It was the longest of my flights, mostly because the top speed is only half that of a DC-9, which is what I flew in on every other connecting flight. The flight was delayed by a good 20 minutes. There weren't too many passengers though.
So, Vernie picked me up at the airport, she brought me food.. that was nice of her. She was kindof shy and quiet. A day or so later she made a comment about how she was affected by my eyes. I guess they must really be something to behold... as you can guess I don't see them too much myself. It was very cute when she said it but I can't seem to really do it justice in my blog. When we got back to her apt. she was um much less shy. :)
So far I've been having a great time. She tried to teach me how to play DDR on her PS2. I suck but it's fun... I think we might play it some more this afternoon. She's sleeping right now so perhaps when I get done postinng to my blog I'll just go pop the game in and play it by myself. I've met a few of her friends and we rented a few movies. Anchorman and Luther, both good movies. I want her to teach me some basics of Tai Chi. She's pretty good at it from what I understand. We just havn't had time for her to demonstrate or show me anything about it. I had considered looking into tai chi in the past, because I've heard its a really good low-impact form of exercise. Now that Vernie can teach me some basics I'm interested in it again.
Tonight we say goodbye to 2004. I think that overall 2004 was good to me. A transitional year I suppose. I lost a lot of weight, found a good job (which I start on wednsday), and I found Vernie. I'm happy to say that this new years eve will not involve me sitting alone on the computer in my parents' basement watching Conan. (I'm in the eastern time zone... so.. conan isn't on at midnight. ;) )
To all who read this I hope that 2005 is a safe and happy year.
well Vernie's still sleeping... poor thing.. so sleepy and SO cute! We did laundry today so I better go take care of it now.

adventures of a sleepy esquilax
Since the last time I posted to my blog, I have, on several occasions, thought of things I wanted to put down and various witty titles and so-forth.. well I never got around to making any of these great posts... my job at Target among other things has been sucking up all of my time. so... here's a long one.
As seen on TV:
If you'll scroll down a way you'll see that I went to a jeapordy! try-out. Well a few days after Ken Jennings lost, A&E had a episode of Biography about Ken and a few other big Jeapordy! winners. Well, they showed a little footage from the Omaha tryouts and I was on the screen a couple times for a couple seconds each. I probably should have taped it but it's not that big of a deal.. any one who would care knows what I look like.
And Everybody say Yatta! :
I have a new job! I got the job I wanted at the hospital doing tech support. I'm excitited.. pays well, good benifits, nice place. I start the 5th. I would have started sooner but I had to give two weeks notice to Target. (ok I suppose I diddn't NEED to.. but *shrug* my conscince made me do it.. and I'm going to fly out to michicgan for a few days around New Years. I can blog more about that later.
other things:
Vernie got me three books for my birthday. One was an ASL dictionary of computer terms. It's a very cool book. and the other two were a couple of novels by Terry Pratchet. I've been reading one and I like it quite a bit. I feel like I'm re-discovering reading as a form of entertainment. I havn't read a book solely for enjoyment in a very long time. The last book I read, just for the sake of reading a book, was "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking. That was over 6 years ago. Vernie has also knitted me a scarf (though that was a "just because" gift)... I've had it for a while now. I don't know what else to say about that but it's very warm, soft and she has some 1337 knitting skills :) Her birthday isn't untill May, so I have some time to get something for her... I did get her a Christmas gift. She recieved it in the mail today and I gave her the go-ahead to open it early. I bought an imported set of DVDs off e-bay. The video is Korean, but I'm wondering if the DVDs themselves come from Japan. They're NTSC (obviously) and region free. hmmm I don't know if Korea uses NTSC or not but I was under the impression that only the US, Candada, and Japan use it while the rest of the world is using PAL/SECAM. I don't really care I guess. Vernie loves her gift and it's playable on a DVD player without going through the trouble of having to copy the disks to take off the protection.
Now that I've actually started to use e-bay I'd like to sell off some of my junk. I will let my friends have first dibs on anything I'm selling before it goes up for auction. If you're interested in seeing what I have let me know. If you don't know how to contact me then you're not included in the offer ;)
I still can't get outgoing e-mail to work on my ogo. I've tried a few things but keep getting authentication errors. I did find out that the relay provider in Nebraska offers the relay not only over the internet and via internet video conferenceing but also over the AOL instant messinger. I tried it the other day just to see if it works. The lag is terrible, but if I were to drive my jeep into a ditch .. or in some other way get stranded, I would be able to call a phone for help.. or Pizza.

Today I learned that every single flourist in Marquette, MI is closed on Sunday.
Today has not been a good day. I love Vernie, but I still managed to hurt her. If you love some one don't just sit back and smile, or idly say that you do... show them.
